“What can a mere child do?”

That was the first thought of most of the villagers when the boy told them that he is the doctor who was sent by a certain academy to help them out.

The doctor that they expected to see was a wise-looking adult, critical and experienced to the situation they are currently on. Yet they were shocked by an arrival of a innocent-looking boy.

“Please, I ask for your cooperation. I am the doctor who was sent by Sir Finn Conway,” the boy stated, he shows a formal letter from the academy, signed by his Healing Arts & Medicine teacher and the Headmistress of the Academy.

Although the boy showed the letter, the villagers hardly believe him. A nine-year-old child as a doctor? Is that even possible?

“Hey, kid. We are not playing a game. This is a serious situation, we have just got swept away by a natural disaster. Now don’t claimed yourself as a doctor and go away from here. We have no time to give you attention.”

“I already said that I am the doctor who was sent to help you heal the wounded. Is this letter is not good enough?”

“Listen, little boy. Stop your ridiculous act—there’s no way a little child like you can be a doctor. Now stop your nonsense, and—“

“Lulu, let’s go.” The boy ignores one of the villager who is talking to him, and he goes in with his familiar. One of the villager attempts to grab his cloak, but instead, his hand is shocked by an invisible barrier. They then notices that the blue, dagger on the boy’s right hand is shining brightly

The boy keep waking to an injured person. The wounded looks so hesitate, as if he told him that this boy is useless, however….

“Please trust me. If the formal letter is not enough, I have to do this.”

A spell chanted from his lips. While casting his spell, the villagers who want to stop him can’t do anything, as a little barrier keeps protect the boy, while the rest watches him in awe. A bright, glowing blue spell appears on his hand, which is turned into a flow of water. The water covers the injuries of the person, and in seconds, the outer wound disappeared.

The villagers see what they hardly believe. A doctor…? Is he really is? What kind of trick does he use?

The boy looks around. He sees the villagers who stare at him in disbelief. Feeling that he can’t convince them enough, his eyes wandering around, until he spots a wounded woman, which is, coincidentally, looks alike with his mother.

The boy immediately runs towards her.

“What is he going to do?? Stop him!”

The villagers are trying to stop him, but it is no use. His barrier keeps active, boosted by Lunir’s magic power.

The boy kneeled near the woman. The wound looks quite serious, and she seems to be dying.

As if he sees his mother, he whispers. “I’m going to heal you. And you will be fine. I promise.”

Another spell is chanted. Holding his necklace with a green gem attached on it, a radiant light gathers into the necklace and keeps gathering until they form a huge gathered energy. The boy then transfers the light into her, however, it is not an easy task. He feels that the spell is absorbing his energy. Sweats start to fall down from his face.

“Darling, you don’t have to force yourself…. “ the woman said to him, feeling sorry to see a little child like him have to do such a thing.

“I’m going to heal you….I’m going to save you….Mother…!”
-----------------------

The woman feels that her injuries is not as hurt as before. She tries to get up, and she does.

The villagers come to her, asking if she is okay—ignoring the boy—, who looks quite exhausted—who just healed her.

“I am okay,” she said. “I feel almost nothing….only small aches left. Please, everyone…. I am the witness of his ability, and it was real. And you are too, seeing his power. I know it is hard to believe, but I feel it by myself. Can you just believe in him?”

The woman smiles at the boy.

“Thank you, I owe you. Do you have something to say?”

The boy looks at her for a moment, then he looks around. All buildings are swept away, and only ruins and a few strong buildings remain. Some villagers got serious wounds, and most are little bruises. The situation can still be restored.

“I want one thing from you, which is TRUST. Please listen to what I say. This is for your own sake as well.”

The villagers look at him, not saying anything.

The boy asks them to help treating the wounded villagers. He also explains of what he learned in his class, asking them to find medicine herbs that are commonly found almost everywhere, telling them the usage of each part of the herbs, and give them advices how to treat the patients using the plants.

“Bring the dying people to me! Trust me or not, it is your choice. Live or die, you decide!”

This is what upsets the boy most.

Being not believed and underestimated hurts. He just wants to grown-up fast and get stronger.
